Protecting Open Society Foundation South Africa’s email with Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP)
The Open Society Foundation for South Africa (OSF-SA) is a not-for profit organisation committed to promoting the values, institutions and practices of an open, non-racial and no-sexist, democratic, civil society. The work of OSF-SA focuses on South Africa and the office is based in Cape Town.
Since 2016 Netsurit have been a Strategic IT Partner to OSF-SA and has provided technology roadmap direction. One of the many successful projects managed by Netsurit was migrating our on-premise email system to Microsoft Office 365 cloud.
Whilst Office 365 provides companies with basic security measures that protect email against spam, malware and known viruses, we needed to make sure we had all the protection possible. With hackers becoming increasingly more sophisticated with their damaging attacks, OSF-SA needed the tools to help neutralize attacks. Netsurit recommended that OSF-SA utilises Microsoft Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) which enriches the security of the platform providing protection against advanced threats.
Protection through Office 365 ATP is determined by defined policies for Safe Links, Safe Attachments, and Anti-Phishing which will are reviewed annually to ensure that OSF-SA remain up to date and take advantages of new features that are added to the service. Reporting is also done monthly to show how ATP is working.
The Office 365 ATP Project was handled professionally, well planned, constant communication and efficiently and effectively implemented. End users were aware of the up and coming changes which ultimately would ensure that our business email is secure.
Netsurit have proven to be extremely competent with managed services and Microsoft professional services engagements and I can highly recommend them for engagements of such a nature.
